Masthead Dunes is a sophisticated one level, four bedroom, two bath, home with beautiful views to the Pacific Ocean. All of the detail work throughout the home is of very high quality. Central to the open floor plan is the great room with living, dining and kitchen areas adjacent to one another. A wall of windows along the entire western side of the great room looks out past the spacious deck, across a wide meadow, to blue and white water views beyond. (Deer graze the meadow and raptors soar overhead.) The great room has a beautiful gas fireplace and a large flat screen television is mounted just above it. (If you are not in the mood for television just slide the wooden panel over it and enjoy a cozy fire instead.) The chefs in your party are going to love the well appointed kitchen either for simple snacks or gourmet feasts and will be delighted that they are not shut off from the rest of the group during prep time. A chef's counter is available for a quick taste or a light meal. It is the perfect place for the chef to keep friends entertained, but out of the way while the main meal is being prepared. Meals can be served either inside on the ample dining table or more informally outside the sliding glass doors on the deck. Bar-b-cue facilities are just off the deck if someone wants to showcase their secret recipe for a family favorite. The four bedrooms are divided into two suites of two bedrooms and a bath each - one suite on each side of the great room. They will easily accommodate eight people and the set up is ideal for one or two families with children. (Children of all ages are welcome.) A luxurious hot tub is available on the deck as a refuge after a long hike or for star gazing after the kids have gone to bed. Laundry facilities are just off of the kitchen and there is free worldwide telephone service so you can easily keep friends and family up-to-date on your recent Sea Ranch adventures. Or you can email them with the free internet connection.
When it is time to find out what Sea Ranch is all about go out the front door, through the small courtyard, and turn left or right as you will. If you turn right you are headed up the hill for the deep forest that stretches along the eastern edge of the community. If you turn left you are almost immediately on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Several beaches are nearby and all told there are over fifty miles of trails in Sea Ranch that beckon to the curious. $1,053 two nights, $2,870 seven nights.
