Moonrise was the first single family home designed at The Sea Ranch by William Turnbull of the architectural firm Moore, Lyndon, Turnbull and Whitaker. Before his death, Turnbull drew up plans to enlarge and update the house. The renovation was completed in 2013 under the supervision of Turnbull’s former colleague, Marvin Buchanan. The house takes its name from Ansel Adams’ famous photograph, “Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico."
